Counselor
I was born is Rivers Manitoba, Canada and I grew up on a mixed farm with cattle and grain. I loved sports and played hockey, curling, baseball, basketball volleyball, and golf. I am a 1st generation college graduate. I have been a teacher for 28 years, a district special education coordinator and behavior support coach for 5 years, and this is my 4th year in Dallas ISD as a counselor. I have lived and taught is 6 different countries: Canada (Manitoba/Ontario), Taiwan, Indonesia, Kuwait, Bangladesh, The Philippines, and the United Stated (New Mexico/Texas). My wife Kim is a high school Counselor and an LPC and we have been married for 25 years. Our daughter Shaylah graduated in 2024 from the University of Arkansas (GO HOGS) with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. My son Elias is working his way up the corporate ladder with Kroger. One of my main guiding principles is: “Make the world a better place for the people around you.” I am excited about working at Tom C. Gooch, to service the students and community. Please feel free to reach out, as I believe no problem is too small to talk about.
